The New Generation

Since 1957, Stober Group has been a family-owned developer committed to shaping vibrant, people-centred neighbourhoods across the Okanagan.

Today, second-generation owners—siblings Carolyn and Ken Stober—sit on and guide Stober Group’s Board of Directors, ensuring transparent, values-driven governance. They lead the company with the same spirit of stewardship, collaboration, and trust that defined their father Al Stober’s work, while adding fresh energy and a forward-thinking vision for the decades ahead.

Honouring Our Legacy

Over 60 years ago, visionary builder Al Stober began shaping the Okanagan—one thoughtfully crafted development at a time. He paired entrepreneurial courage with a deep sense of civic duty, consistently channeling success back into the region he loved.

In 1991, Al and his wife, Sandra, formalized the family’s charitable spirit by creating the Stober Foundation, which has since donated millions to health-care, education, food security, and emergency-response causes across the Okanagan and beyond.

Together, Al and Sandra set enduring standards of craftsmanship, generosity, and social responsibility that still guide Stober Group today, inspiring future generations to build with care and give back with purpose.

Ken Stober

Owner and Director

Ken has been part of Stober Group for over three decades, working alongside his father, Al, and brother, Mark, to help grow the family business. He started as a labourer, advanced to carpenter, and then served as a building-construction superintendent during his first decade with the company. He then moved from the tools into leadership within Stober Group’s property-management division. After stepping away in 2011 to pursue philanthropic opportunities, Ken returned in 2017—taking a seat on the Board of Directors—to help guide the company’s transition to a multigenerational model.

Anchored in the deep belief that success without generosity is incomplete, Ken leads the organization by fostering a culture of giving back. He sees every Stober project as a chance to create lasting impact and strengthen the community, measuring success not only by what is built but by how much is shared through philanthropy, mentorship, and active involvement.

Carolyn Stober

Owner and Director

Carolyn is a relative newcomer to the development industry, joining Stober Group in 2017 to work alongside her dad, Al Stober, on the company’s transition to second-generation leadership. Since taking a seat on the Board of Directors that same year, she has focused her efforts on sound governance, ensuring the Stober family’s legacy of stewardship and excellence shines through in every project.

With a legacy of deep family roots in Kelowna, Carolyn feels a personal responsibility to help build a beautiful, prosperous city. She wants her friends, family, and neighbours to be proud of every home, office, and retail space Stober Group creates. She approaches each offering holistically, balancing thoughtful design and aesthetic integrity with ease of gathering, safety, and vitality—so every space supports vibrant living, flourishing businesses, and genuine connections.
